The tech to find things by photos already exists. The only thing needed is to adapt it to different uses.
For about 14 years I had taken hundreds of photos from on top of Mt Pleasant and from the ground with my telephoto.
Not knowing any of them, too far to make them out but posted them in albums in case someone was there on a certain day.
When I put them in my Google album, there is a button to search for "people you know"

I never noticed before but when I clicked on one girl that I had taen close up pics with her pals, the Mr Google added the telephoto pic to the array... hmmm the ability to identify at a distance. My camera was setup about 750' away when I took these.

The google photo album also lets you find photos in a date range.

I clicked on a pic of my pup, it picked out a bunch (but two of them were my other pups, Saints 2)

Clicked on an unknown pup I had taken a pic of, the app picked out several look a-likes.

There are endless developers creating new apps or websites. The attentention of the final program depends on demand I suppose.

My daughter showing me pics her n some kids captured on their nature walks.. There is an app take a pic of a bird or a bug and the app will identify what it is .. AND THE APPS ARE FREE.

Google also lets people add info along with their photos. A click on a particular dog would pop up all look-a-likes ?

In the years I have been watching post in social media scroll up, I have seen hundreds of post about peoples dogs, cats, horses.
Bugs and birds get trivial attention.
I am guessing an app to dentify dogs would have a far greater purpose... Why not?
